PepDiana release timeline

Follow public launches, data updates, interface improvements, and maintenance notes for the PepDiana multifunctional peptide database. The page is generated from one Markdown file so routine updates stay simple.

  1. ReleasedData quality

Data quality and release clarity update

PepDiana refined scientific data validation, public terminology, quality guidance, and release-level provenance for the first public version.

    EvidenceProvenanceIdentifiersQuality
    • Corrected qualitative and not-detected observations that had been assigned structured numeric values, and clarified missing-value reasons.
    • Separated confirmed modification-specific peptide identities that shared the same unmodified backbone sequence.
    • Introduced public `PEPDIA-INT-xxxxxx` identifiers while retaining historical identifiers as compatible aliases.
    • Added complete value-and-unit display, quality-score explanations, source-sequence warnings, and persistent PostgreSQL-backed visitor numbering.
    • Updated the public release label to `PepDiana-V1-20260620` and regenerated versioned release assets and checksums.
  2. ReleasedData standards

Standards-aware peptide records and activity provenance

Peptide detail pages and APIs were expanded with standards-aware representations, computed properties, and record-level activity provenance.

    ProFormaHELMSMILESPropertiesActivity
    • Added versioned physicochemical property calculations with method, tool, assumptions, and calculation status.
    • Added ProForma 2.0, HELM 2.0, canonical SMILES, and isomeric SMILES coverage with explicit unavailable or modification-context states.
    • Normalized Integrated activity observations while preserving source IDs, source links, raw values, assay context, and missing-value reasons.
    • Added publication-grouped primary evidence, stable activity-record pages, and versioned CSV, JSON, JSONL, TSV, and FASTA downloads.
  3. ReleasedData expansion

    Primary-literature evidence layer

PepDiana added a provenance-separated primary-literature layer without flattening paper-level observations into Integrated database annotations.

    Primary literatureExperimental evidenceData layers
    • Added 55,908 experimental observations curated from 3,682 publications.
    • Released 3,375 primary-only, sequence- and modification-aware peptide identities alongside sequence-linked Integrated records.
    • Retained evidence without safely standardizable sequences at paper, mention, and activity-record level rather than inventing canonical identities.
    • Added layered Browse, evidence search, publication links, Primary peptide detail pages, Analytics coverage, and API access.
  4. ReleasedLaunch

    PepDiana official launch

PepDiana officially goes online as a curated multifunctional peptide database for moonlight peptide discovery.

    LaunchDatabaseMaintenance
    • PepDiana is launched as the public-facing name for the multifunctional peptide database, inspired by Diana Triformis and the many phases of the moon.
    • The first public version focuses on searchable peptide records, activity annotations, source provenance, detail pages, exports, analytics, and API access.
    • The site will be maintained with regular data and interface updates. Major changes will be recorded here so users can track database growth and feature improvements.
    • Maintenance commitment: keep core browsing, detail inspection, export, and API workflows stable while new datasets, standards coverage, and AI-agent access patterns are added.
